My name is Anthony David Adams and I intend to trade One Toy Spaceship for a ride into space. I started with my toy spaceship and I am making a series of trades for bigger or better space-related things. Additionally, I will also be giving away 17,000 space exploration curriculum kits so students can shoot HD Video of near space. My current item up for trade is transport of your custom designed experiment to the Internaitonal Space Station. Are you a mad space scientist? Make me an offer at I am based in New York City, but you can trade from anywhere in the galaxy.

The Race For Space!

We got the most votes (32,077) now just waiting on the judges!
I walked into my office a few weeks ago and laying on my desk was a 2 page ad spread for the Metro New York : Race For Space in which they would be sending someone on a suborbital ride in 2014. Turns out it didn't appear via worm hole, rather Mike Brancatelli from CitizenNY left it for me and thought I would be interested -- I was and I entered within minutes. The contest called for submitting an application and then driving votes to your entry. A panel of judges would then select finalists from each of the countries where Metro has a prescence, and then again select one overall winner.

We rallied, and ended up with 32,077 votes 239 comments and over 1k facebook likes! We took first place in terms of votes, so now it is up to the judges to determine what happens next.

The contest prize package includes the following:

  • Spaceflight from the SXC Space Mission in Curacao
    • Return flight to Curacao
    • Three nights in a five-star hotel
  • Two training missions in Holland
    • Return air ticket to the Netherlands, plus hotel accommodation
    • Mission-tactics training course
    • Desdemona Simulator: the first simulator that both offers a full range of motion and is capable of generating all G-forces up to 3.3G.
    • L-39 Albatross Jet: get used to flying in a high-performance aircraft, wearing a helmet – and even pulling some Gs!
  • Optional Mission Reporting to Metro Readers on 4 Continents

Close to 10,000 people entered from all over the world, so now we will just wait and see who they select! The April 12th edition of METRO NEW YORK will have the local finalists and it's supposed to be a "space issue"!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this happen and get us this far!
